Product Description - Bilobata

Vines with 2 to 4 inch leaves, Wax Plants take their name from their long-lasting clusters of 1/2 to 1 inch star-shaped flowers, which are sweetly fragrant and so shiny they appear to be made of wax. Other species are sometimes sold, but most common by far is H. carnosa, which bears pinkish white flowers with red centers in summer and has foliage that is sometimes edged with pink and cream.

Plant Care

Wax-plants grow best in at least four hours of direct morning or afternoon sunlight per day, but can also be grown in bright indirect or curtain-filtered sunlight. Night temperatures of 60 to 65 degrees and day temperatures of 70 degrees or higher are ideal. Allow the soil to become almost dry between watering when the plants are resting and fertilize every two months in spring and summer. If a climbing plant is desired, train the vines on a 2 to 4 foot trellis. Do not remove the leafless spurs or stubs as new flowers appear every year. New plants may be started at any time by air layering or from stem cuttings. Watch for mealybugs.

    To me I find this hoya very delicate. Once again, let it dry out between waterings.
